Age of Innocence PTU

I can't be compromising in my thoughts no more
I can't prevent the times my anger fills my heart
I can't be sympathyzing with a new lost cause
I feel I've lost my patience with the world and all

So we only get one chance can we take it
And we only get one life can't exchange it
Can we hold on to what we have don't replace it
The age of innocence is fading..... Like an old dream

Age of Innocence...Iron Maiden

This tutorial was written by me on May 13th, 2013. Any resemblance to any other tutorial or tag is unintentional and is pure coincidencePlease do not claim my work as your own and do not post to any other website, blog or forum without permission from me. It is written with the assumption that you have a working knowledge of PSP and its components. It was written for PSP 9.

I recommend that you read through this or any tutorial you are attempting before starting it so you will know what to expect and how to get organized.

As with any of my tutorials when a plugin is required, change only the settings I recommend and leave the others on the default settings.

What you will need to accomplish this tutorial is the gorgeous art of Enamorte which you can purchase at Creative Design Outlet HERE along with her other tubes.  Scrap by Rebel Dezigns called Goth Lover-Mini which can also be purchased at CDO HERE. Please support the arts and do not use Enamorte's tubes without a license and certainly do not share her tubes or this kit.  Plugins are Alien Skin Eye Candy/Impact, Eye Candy 4000, Penta/Dot & Cross, and Xero.  Mask is mine and can found right here on this blog...Trese Mask 319.  You'll need a flare brush, I uploaded one for you HERE.  Font is Amadeus Regular.

Let's get started...

But first let's get your brush into PSP to use....it's simple...open the brush I supplied into PSP and then go to File/Export/Custom Brush and name your brush so you can find it easily.

Begin by opening your tube and your elements into PSP and minimize until you're ready to use them.  Now start a new canvas.  I usually start with a 700 x 700.

Copy and paste your frame of choice, (you can use my image as a reference for the elements I used.) into your canvas.  Then copy and paste your tube under your frame, resize so it fits, then duplicate your tube and drag the duplicate above the frame.  Grab your Selection tool with a 30% feather and select the bottom of the tube where it sits onto the frame and hit delete to fit the tube to look as though she's coming out of the frame.  On this tube layer go to Effects/Plugins/Xero/Radiance and use these settings:

Then go to Effects/Plugins/Xero/Porcelain and use these settings:

Now let's give some some depth in the canvas, go to Effects/Plugins/Alien Skin Eye Candy 5/Impact/Perspective Shadow and use these settings:

This plugin may require a little practice.  There are just a couple of important things to remember when shadowing is to attempt to make your shadows appear natural and to watch closely all the areas of whatever you're shadowing.  You can view all the areas by moving the little red box around at the top of the window of this plugin...

(You can tweak your shadows by moving the nodes around in the preview window. To move one node at a time hold down your CTRL key. You can move the whole shadow by holding down your right mouse button and clicking in the middle of the shadow.  It's very important to think about how a shadow would be cast realistically and how dark or how light it should be. This plugin is one of my favorites and one I use with nearly every single one of my tags.)

Now copy and paste the rest of the elements into your canvas.  You can resize them using your Raster Deform tool for precise sizing.  For the elements you wish to colorize as I did like the butterfly go to Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize and use these settings:

Copy and paste paper of choice below the original tube layer, use your eraser tool to erase any of the paper outside the frame.  Go to Effects/Plugins/Penta/Dot & Cross and use these settings:

Above your background layer add a new Raster Layer and flood fill with a dark purple from the tube, resize this layer 80% and apply Trese Mask 319, merge group.

Now grab your Brush tool and apply the flare brush to the lamp...be sure you add a new layer above the lamp so you can tweak your brush.

Now add your name and go to Effects/Plugins/Alien Skin Eye Candy 5/Impact/Chrome and use these settings:

Duplicate and

Add a slight drop shadow to the duplicate

Colorize using the same color you colorized your elements with and

Then Colorize by going to Adjust/Hue & Saturation/Colorize and use these settings:

Grab your Selection tool set on Rectangle with 40 % feather and select the bottom or top half of your name and hit delete...Merge the two name layers together...

Now go to Effects/Plugins/Eye Candy 4000/Gradient Glow and use these settings:

(In the Color Tab select Select Black Halo and set both colors to White)

Now finally go to Effects/Plugins/Eye Candy 4000/Corona and use these settings:

Now add your copyright taking care that it is legal and legible and you're done.

Thank you for trying my tutorial.  I hope you enjoyed it and hopefully learned something to hone your skills.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any issues or questions about any of my tutorials.

Blessings,

Trese

I haven't thought of Iron Maiden in a long time. Love that you quoted them!
