Diva PTU Animated

A Diva is someone who pretends to know who she is and looks fabulous doing it.

This tutorial was written by me on November 14th, 2012. Any resemblance to any other tutorial or tag is unintentional and is pure coincidence. Please do not claim my work as your own and do not post to any other website, blog or forum without permission from me. It is written with the assumption that you have a working knowledge of PSP and its components. It was written for PSP 9.

I recommend that you read through this or any tutorial you are attempting before starting it so you will know what to expect and how to get organized.

As with any of my tutorials when a plugin is required, change only the settings I recommend and leave the others on the default settings.

What you will need to accomplish this tutorial is this stunning tube by the amazing Barbara Jensen which you can purchase on her site HERE.  This totally fun kit by my friend Amy Marie.  It's packed with gorgeous elements perfect for that Diva tag.  It's called Kelly Lynn and you can purchase it from her blog HERE.   Thank you Amy.  Please support the arts and do not use Barb's tubes without a license and certainly do not share her tubes or this kit.  Plugins are dsb flux, Eye Candy 4000, Xenofex 2, and Xero.  Font is called Miss Lankfort and can be found HERE.

Let's do this...

First start a new 700 x 700 white image which we will resize in the end.  Copy and paste the city2 element into your new canvas and resize it 85%.  Then copy and paste frame 2 above it and resize it 55%.

Copy and paste paper 20 below the frame, resize 50% and then grab your Selection tool set on circle, no feather needed.  Select the area of the paper underneath the outer edges of the frame,  so to Selections/Invert and hit delete. Do not deselect.

Copy and paste the close up of Barb's tube and fit her face into the frame, hit delete and then deselect.  Duplicate the tube, on the original go to Effects/Artistic Effects/Glowing Edges and use these settings:

Set the opacity of this layer to 50%.  On the duplicate layer, set the Blend mode to Hard Light and then go to Selections/Select All, Selections/Float, Selections/Defloat and then Effects/Plugins/Xero/Illustrator and use these settings.

Selections/Select None.  Then go to Effects/Plugins/Xero/Radiance and use these settings:

Then Effects/Plugins/Xero/Porcelain and use these settings:

Use my image as a reference and copy and paste the elements into your working image.  Once you have your design set up, go back to the frame layer and duplicate it twice for a total of three frame layers.  Hide the two duplicated layers, then go back to the original frame layer and then to Effects/Plugins/Xenofex 2/Constellation and use these settings:

Hide the original frame layer, unhide and select the middle frame layer and go to Effects/Constellation and use the same settings only hitting the Random Seed button once.  Repeat the steps for the last layer.

For the gem swirl layer, merge the two together, where you pasted and duplicated it according to my layout.  Duplicate this layer twice for a total of three layers, hide the top two and select the original layer and use these Constellation settings:

Do as you did above, hide the original gem swirl layer, unhide and select the middle gem swirl layer and use the same settings only hitting the Random Seed Button once. Repeat for the last layer.

On the Diva layer, duplicate twice for a total of three layers, hide the top two and select the original then go to Effects/Plugins/dsb flux/Bright Noise and use these settings:

Hide the original Diva layer, unhide and select the middle Diva layer and go to Effects/Bright Noise and increase the Intensity by 10 taking it to 45.  Repeat the process for the last layer taking the Intensity to 55.

Then go to Effects/Plugins/Eye Candy 4000/Corona and use these settings:

Add your name, give it a slight drop shadow, then go to Effects/Plugins/Eye Candy 4000/Corona and use the same settings you just used on Diva only taking the glow width down to about 8.

Add your copyright and we'll animate and finish up.  For a neat and professional-looking copyright I use a pixel font, you can Google and find literally hundreds of these fonts.  Most work best at size 6 with your Antialias off.  I also gave my copyright in this image a slight Corona to make it stand out.

Now, on the frame layers, the Diva layers and the gem swirl layers we will animate, be sure you have the two top layers in each of these hidden and the bottom layer in each open.  Hold down CTRL + SHIFT  and hit C to copy merged and go and open Animation Shop (AS).  Go to File/Jasc Software Products/Launch Animation Shop.  Once open hit CTRL + v to paste a new animation. And go back to PSP.  Hide the original layers on the frame, Diva and gem swirl and unhide the middle layers.  Hold down CTRL +  SHIFT and hit C to copy merged and go back to AS.  This time hold down CTRL + SHIFT and hit L to paste after current frame.  Repeat the process for the remaining layers and then check your work.  View/Animation.  If you're happy with it, resize and save as a .gif and you're done.

Thank you for trying my tutorial, I hope you enjoyed it and maybe even learned something to hone your PSP skills.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns about any of my tutorials.

Blessings,

Trese
