Incense & Myrrh PTU Animated

Incense & Myrrh, silken red mahogony
Beautifully disfigured
The scent of orchids fills the air
Incense & Myrrh
A candle's flame unwavering
A choir of the angels, places of so high they sing
Tears rain down, down on me.

This tutorial was written by me on November 9th, 2012. Any resemblance to any other tutorial or tag is unintentional and is pure coincidence. Please do not claim my work as your own and do not post to any other website, blog or forum without permission from me. It is written with the assumption that you have a working knowledge of PSP and its components. It was written for PSP 9.

I recommend that you read through this or any tutorial you are attempting before starting it so you will know what to expect and how to get organized.

What you will need to accomplish this tutorial is the amazing art of Barbara Jensen, this is from her newest tube pack and you can purchase it HERE on here site.  Also a new scrap from Crazy Carita...a Barbara Jensen Exclusive which you can also purchase on Barb's site, it's called Cookies For Barb.  Please support the arts and do not use her tubes without a license and please don't share her tubes or Carita's kit.  Mask is Essex Girl, sg_scrollwork circle.  You can find it on her site HERE.  Plugin is Eye Candy 4000 and font is Christmas4, which I can't seem to find anywhere online, so I uploaded it for you HERE.

Let's get started...

First start a 700 x 700 new white image which we will resize later.  Copy and paste element 14 into your new canvas and resize it 70%.  Give it a slight drop shadow.  Go to Adjust/Hue & Saturation/Colorize and use these settings:

Below this frame copy and paste paper5.  Duplicate it. Hide the original layer and on the dulicate layer use your eraser tool to erase any of the paper outside your frame.  Then go back to the original and apply the mask.  Your mask should fit symmetrically beneath the frame.  Once you have it applied, go to Effects/Plugins/Eye Candy 4000/Corona and use these settings:

Also apply a Corona to your frame but increase the Glow Width to 12.

Copy and paste the closeup of this tube beneath your frame, dulicate it and drag the dulicate above the frame and erase the bottom of the tube so she fits into the frame.

Using my image as a reference copy and paste the remaining elements into your canvas.  You can get precise sizing by using your Raster Deform tool and you can also rotate any element in your work with this tool.

On the Poinsettia use the same colorizing settings you used on your frame.  Paste the poinsettia into your canvas, duplicate it, apply the colorization then grab your Selection tool set on Ellipse with a 15% feather and select the middle and different spots around the flower and hit delete to expose the colors below.  Once you've tweaked your flower like you want it, merge the two layers together.

On the key, duplicate it twice for a total of three key layers.  On the original layer grab your Selection tool set Circle with an 8% feather and select the green area decoration of the key...see below

Go to Effects/Plugins/Eye Candy 4000/HSB Noise and use these settings:

Hide the original key layer, unhide and select the middle key layer and go to Effects/HSB Noise and use the same settings only hit the Random Seed button once.  Repeat for the last layer.

Add your name, give it a drop shadow, then go to Effects/Plugins/Eye Candy 4000/Gradient Glow and use these settings:

Then go to Effects/Plugins/Eye Candy 4000/Corona and use these settings:

Add your copyright taking care that it is legal and legible.

Open Animation Shop (AS) by going to File/Jasc Software Products/Launch Animation Shop and then go back to PSP.  Hide the two top layers of the key.  Hold down CTRL + SHIFT and hit C to copy merged.  Go to AS and hit CTRL + v to paste a new animation.  Back to PSP, hide the bottom key layer, unhide the middle key layer and hold down CTRL + SHIFT and hit C and go back to AS.  This time hold down CTRL + SHIFT and hit L to paste after current frame.  Repeat for the last key layer.  Check your work, View/Animation...if you're satisfied, resize and save as a .gif and you're done.

Thank you for trying my tutorial, I hope you enjoyed it and maybe even learned something to hone your PSP skills.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns about any of my tutorials.

Blessings,

Trese
