Sweet But Not Innocent PTU Animated

This tutorial was written by me on May 13th, 2013. Any resemblance to any other tutorial or tag is unintentional and is pure coincidencePlease do not claim my work as your own and do not post to any other website, blog or forum without permission from me. It is written with the assumption that you have a working knowledge of PSP and its components. It was written for PSP 9.

I recommend that you read through this or any tutorial you are attempting before starting it so you will know what to expect and how to get organized.

As with any of my tutorials when a plugin is required, change only the settings I recommend and leave the others on the default settings.

What you will need to accomplish this tutorial is the quirky art of Caron Vinson which can be purchased at Creative Design Outlet HERE along with her other tubes.  This fun kit by Tammy Kat of TK Dezigns which was Inspired by this tube can also be purchased at Creative Design Outlet HERE as well.  Please support the arts and do not use Caron's tubes without a license and certainly don't share her tubes or this kit. Plugins include Alien Skin Eye Candy 5/Impact, Xenofex 2, and Eye Candy 4000.  Mask is one of mine and can be found right here on this blog, it's Trese Mask 279.  You will need the brushes I uploaded for you HERE.  Font is called Amazon.

Let's do this...

But first let's get your brush into PSP to use....it's simple...open the brush I supplied into PSP and then go to File/Export/Custom Brush and name your brush so you can find it easily.

Begin by opening your elements and tube into PSP ( you can use my image as a reference for which elements I used), minimize until you're ready to use.

Start a new white image.  I normally start with a 700 x 700.  Copy and paste Clusterframe 1 into your new image and resize it 75%.  Then copy and paste paper 6 below this frame, resize it 75% and then use your Eraser tool to erase any of the paper outside the frame.

Below this paper layer add a new Raster Layer and flood fill with dark grey or black and apply Trese Mask 279, merge layers.

Next, copy and paste your tube on the top of your canvas.  Go to Effects/Plugins/Alien Skin Eye Candy 5/Impact/Perspective Shadow and use these settings:

This plugin may require a little practice.  There are just a couple of important things to remember when shadowing is to attempt to make your shadows appear natural and to watch closely all the areas of whatever you're shadowing.  You can view all the areas by moving the little red box around at the top of the window of this plugin...

(You can tweak your shadows by moving the nodes around in the preview window. To move one node at a time hold down your CTRL key. You can move the whole shadow by holding down your right mouse button and clicking in the middle of the shadow.  It's very important to think about how a shadow would be cast realistically and how dark or how light it should be. This plugin is one of my favorites and one I use with nearly every single one of my tags.)

At this point, using my image as a reference, copy and paste the remaining elements into your working canvas.  For precise sizing use your Raster Deform tool, but be sure to drag the corners evenly so not to distort the elements.  Don't forget to add drop shadows.  For the crown I used the same Perspective Shadow I used on my tube for more depth.

Now, go back to the clusterframe layer and duplicate it twice for a total of three layers. Hide the top two layers and be sure you have the original frame layer selected in your layer palette.  Do not move any of these layers at this point or your animation will be "out-of-whack."  Go to Effects/Plugins/Xenofex 2/Constellation and use these settings:

Repeat the same settings for the remaining two layers only hit the Random Seed Button once for each layer.  Then go back to each layer and add a medium drop shadow.

For the Sweet But Not Innocent word art grab your Selection Tool and set it on Rectangle with a 30% feather and select a small portion on the bottom left and hit delete, then go to Selections/Select None. With the same settings on your Selection Tool select a small portion of the top right and hit delete...Selections/Select None.

Now for your name.  Add your name then go to Selections/Select All, Selection/Float, Selections/Defloat...it will have what appears to be marching ants around it.  Now add a new Raster layer on top of your name and name it Brushes.

Begin to apply the star brushes I included for this tutorial in white first, then dark pink, then lighter pink.

Once you have your brushes in your name like you want them go to Selections/Select None.  In your layer palette select the name layer and go to Effects/Plugins/Eye Candy 4000/Gradient Glow and use these settings:

In the Color Tab Select Black Halo and set the Opacity to 100.

Merge the brush and name layers together.

Now go to Effects/Plugins/Eye Candy 4000/Corona and use these settings:

Add your copyright taking care that it is legal and legible.

Now let's animate...

Open Animation Shop (AS).  In PSP be sure that the two top layers for the clusterframe are hidden.  Hold down CTRL + SHIFT and hit C to copy merged.  Go to AS and hold down CTRL and hit v to paste a new animation.

Back to PSP, hide the bottom clusterframe layer and unhide the middle layer.  Hold down CTRL + SHIFT and hit C to copy merged...back to AS but this time hold down CTRL + SHIFT and hit L to paste after current frame.  Repeat for the last layer.

Check your animation, View/Animation.  If you're satisfied, resize and save as a .gif and you're done.

Thank you for trying my tutorial.  I hope you enjoyed it and maybe learned something to hone your skills.  Please don't hesitate to contact me with any issues or questions for any of my tutorials.

Blessing,

Trese
