Call Me
Wrap me in a bolt of lightening, send me on my way still smiling
Maybe that's the way I should go, straight into the mouth of the unknown
Left the spare key on the table, never really thought I'd be able
to say I'd merely visit on the weekend, lost my whole life and a dear friend.
I've said it so many times, I would change my ways
No nevermind...God knows I tried.
I finally put it all together, but nothing really lasts forever
I had to make a choice that was not mine. I had to say goodbye for the last time.
I kept my whole life in a suitcase. Never really stayed in one place.
Maybe that's the way it should be, you know I live my life like a gypsy.
I've said it so many times, I would change my ways
No nevermind...God knows I tried.
Call me a sinner, call me a saint
Tell me it's over, I'll still love you the same
Call me your favorite, call me the worst
Tell me it's over, I don't want you to hurt.
It's all that I can say, so I'll be on my way.

This tutorial was written by me on December 28th, 2012. Any resemblance to any other tutorial or tag is unintentional and is pure coincidence. Please do not claim my work as your own and do not post to any other website, blog or forum without permission from me. It is written with the assumption that you have a working knowledge of PSP and its components. It was written for PSP 9.
I recommend that you read through this or any tutorial you are attempting before starting it so you will know what to expect and how to get organized.
As with any of my tutorials when a plugin is required, change only the settings I recommend and leave the others on the default settings.
What you will need to accomplish this tutorial is the stunning art of the incomparable Barbara Jensen which you can purchase on her site HERE. The scrap is by our Crazy Carita and can be purchased on Barb's site as well. It's called Key to My Heart. Please support the arts and do not use Barb's tubes without a license and certainly do not share her tubes or Carita's kits. Plugins you will need are Xenofex 2, Xero and Alien Skin Eye Candy 5/Impact. There is no mask...we'll make our own..using the brush I have supplied HERE and elements in the kit. Font is called Cult LET Plain and can be found HERE.
Let's get started...
But first, we need to get your brushes into PSP for use. It's just a couple easy steps. Open the file I provided into PSP. It's in .png format, you can also use .jpegs. For each brush go to File/Export/Custom Brush. Name your brush and click Ok and it's installed in PSP ready for use.
Resize the paper 50% and delete the areas outside the frame with your eraser brush or your Selection tool.
Above your paper copy and paste the Eiffel Tower element and move it to the left of your frame. Now copy and paste your tube, resize it 125% and place her to the right of your frame covering entirely the right side of the frame. Use your Selection tool set on Rectangle with about a 50% feather and delete the lower portion of the tube...see my image for reference for size and placement. Then go to Effects/Plugins/Xero/Radiance and use these settings:
Now go to Effects/Plugins/Alien Skin Eye Candy 5/Impact/Perspective Shadow and use these settings:
This plugin may require a little practice. There are just a couple of important things to remember when shadowing is to attempt to make your shadows appear natural and to watch closely all the areas of whatever you're shadowing. You can view all the areas by moving the little red box around at the top of the window of this plugin...
(You can tweak your shadows by moving the nodes around in the preview window. To move one node at a time hold down your CTRL key. You can move the whole shadow by holding down your right mouse button and clicking in the middle of the shadow. It's very important to think about how a shadow would be cast realistically and how dark or how light it should be. This plugin is one of my favorites and one I use with nearly every single one of my tags.)
Below your paper layer add a new Raster layer and apply the supplied brush as you see it in my image then go to Effects/Plugins/Alien Skin Eye Candy 5/Impact/Motion Trail and use these settings: In the Settings tab choose Slam Down...

At this point begin to copy and paste the remaining elements into your working canvas. You can use my image as a reference for size and placement. And remember you can always use your Raster Deform tool for precise sizing.
To make the string appear to go through the keyhole...give both the string and the key a drop shadow...place the string element in place where part of it will go through the hole and duplicate it...one of the string layers should be below the key and the other above the key...for the one above the key...erase the areas except the part you want to be coming through the hole.
Now, once you have all of your elements in place, add your wordart, your name and your copyright taking care that the copyright is legal and legible. And above the Eiffel Tower element grab your preset tool set on Rectangle. The foreground color should be white, the stroke (width) should be set on 8.0 and your line style is solid. Now draw a rectangle inside the rectangular area of your frame where a slight bit of it is showing through. Note...if you are having problems getting your size right, you can draw your rectangle and then grab your Text tool to resize it. Once you have it in place, duplicate it twice for a total of three. Hide the two top layer and select the original layer and go to Effects/Xenofex 2/Constellation and use these settings:
Select the middle layer and go to Effects/Constellation and use the same settings only hit the Random Seed button once and repeat for the remaining layer.
Open Animation Shop (AS) and then go back to PSP, hold down CTRL + SHIFT and hit C to copy merged...go to AS and hold down CTRL and hit v to paste a new animation...back to PSP...hide the original rectangle layer and unhide the middle rectangle layer...hold down CTRL + SHIFT and hit C to copy merged...back to AS, this time hold down CTRL + SHIFT and hit L to paste after current frame. Repeat for the last layer.
Check your work..View/Animation...if you're happy with it, resize to fit your needs, save as a .gif and you're done.
