Mysterious Lake PTU

This tutorial was written by me on May 15th, 2012. Any resemblance to any other tutorial or tag is unintentional and is pure coincidence. Please do not claim my work as your own and do not post to any other website, blog or forum without permission from me. It is written with the assumption that you have a working knowledge of PSP and its components. I wrote it for PSP 9, but it should be compatible with most versions.

I recommend that you read through this or any tutorial you are attempting before starting it so you will know what to expect and how to get organized.

As with any of my tutorials when a plugin is required, change only the settings I recommend and leave the others on the default settings.

What you will need to accomplish this tutorial is this awesome kit by Manue Designs at Digital Crea  called Mysterious Lake.  You can purchase this kit HERE.  You will also need this amazing tube by Dark Yarrow which you can purchase at Dreamscape Imaging HERE along with all of her other tubes.  Please support the arts and DO NOT use her tubes without a license.  This mask which I am not sure where I got it that I am including in supplies HERE.  If this is your mask please contact me and let me know so I can give you credit in this tutorial.  Plugin Alien Skin Eye Candy 5/Impact and font is WaterBrushROB which can be downloaded HERE.

First open all of your elements and tube into PSP.  You can use my image as a reference for what I used.  Now start a new 700 x 700 white image...we will resize later.

Now copy and paste the square frame which is element 69 into your new white image...resize 15%.  Give it a slight drop shadow.  Next copy and paste your tube over this frame and line up the square part of the tube with the inside bottom of the frame.  Go to Effects/Plugins/Alien Skin Eye Candy 5/Impact/Perspective Shadow and use these settings:

Below the frame layer copy and paste paper of choice.  I used paper 8.  Resize 15% and delete any of the paper which is outside the frame.  Then copy and paste paper 3, resize 20% and apply the mask I provided which is named 214.

Above the mask layer copy and paste element 3 and resize by 20%.  You can always use your Raster Deform tool for precise sizing.  Apply the same perspective shadow as you used above on your tube layer.  Then copy and paste the rest of the elements and give them all the same Perspective Shadow.

Add your name.  Make sure your antialias is set to sharp for crisp edges on  your font.  Go to Effects/Plugins/Eye Candy 4000/Gradient Glow and use these settings:

Then go to Effects/Plugins/Eye Candy 4000/Corona and apply these settings:

( I also used these same settings on the fire flies)

Add your copyright taking care that it is legal and legible.  For a neat and professional-looking copyright I use pixel or copy fonts.  You can google and find them all over the net.  These fonts look best with antialias set to off and at size 6.  For the © symbol hold down ALT key and hit 0169.  Now you can resize and you're done.

Thank you for trying my tutorial.  I hope you enjoyed it and learned something to help hone your PSP skills.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or for any issues with broken links, etc.  Happy creating.

Blessings...
Trese
